I only used the return shipping once through PayPal, it was nice to have. So you're saying you if you return $50 record(shipping included) and now pay $25 for shipping to return, you are $25 and no record to show for it either? So you lost $25 and had to bother with the return process. ![]() PayPal likes people to buy postage through them since they make money from it, but it's not necessary to buy postage from them. You don't need to use PayPal to purchase your return shipping though. Yeah basically goes back to the way it was before they introduced the program. If the number is material enough for me to go through the return process, I do. In some cases, I might decide to keep it anyway since I might be able to sell it locally for more than my net loss, but I always do the math. With lower value items it might make less sense as the loss reduction might not be material for if you are buying expensive records, being out the whole amount is worse than being out the postage. So it makes sense to send it back because although you lose, your loss is lower. So in total I shelled out, at this point $75. I pay $25 to send it back (made up number). I bought a record for $50 (incl shipping). They aren't always the most affordable.Īs a buyer I do the math.
